Once you flatten the project, the cloned areas are flattened to the background and cannot be changed back to the original state. As you clone areas, use the FILE > FLATTEN PROJECT selection to flatten your cloned areas to the background image. When using the Floating Clone tool, you click on the area to use as your source point, move to you destination point and click to start replicating the area that you selected as a source point. Note that if you do change the brush size the brush diameter needs to be set prior to selecting the source area. If a larger brush is needed, you can change the brush diameter in either the upper toolbar or by going to the TOOL > OPTIONS menu. The destination area will be a tiled with the originally selected source area. With the Fixed Clone tool, you select a rectangular source area and drag your brush over the destination area. Both tools can be found on the DRAW > CLONE BRUSH menu.
In Image Editor, you have two cloning tool options, Fixed and Floating. We actually don’t “erase” the plants we use our cloning tools to hide them.
